Radiant guide
Privacy and data controls
Understand local body inputs, result memory, Analytics consent, order retention, privacy requests, and merchant responsibilities.On this page
Radiant separates temporary body inputs from the operational information needed to run a Shopify app. Merchants still control their notices, lawful basis, Shopify Customer Privacy configuration, and shopper request process.
Body details stay in the browser#
The active Smart Selector journey can use sex, birth-year-derived age, height, weight, relevant body-shape choices, and calculated measurements. The recommendation runs in the shopper’s browser.
Radiant does not receive or retain those body inputs as app data, attach them to Analytics, or include them in plan-usage records.
Result memory#
When the merchant enables result memory and Shopify permits preference processing, the browser can remember the completed outcome for the same store and chart.
Available boundaries are:
- current visit;
- 1 day;
- 7 days;
- 30 days.
The stored outcome can include recommended and alternative sizes, fit detail, and unit system. It excludes the original body inputs and calculated measurements.
If Shopify explicitly denies preference processing, Radiant does not write the result to session or local storage. If the privacy service does not respond, Radiant limits memory to the current visit and does not create persistent local storage.
Analytics consent#
Storefront Analytics is separately consent-aware. When enabled and permitted, Radiant can record sizing opens, consultations, results, active time, eligible add-to-cart attribution, and attributed returned units.
Turning Analytics off prevents new eligible events. It does not delete previously verified reporting. Use the privacy-request tools for applicable access or deletion work.
Order references and returns#
Eligible purchase attribution can contain an order reference, product reference, and quantity. A direct order reference is removed after 60 days, while non-linked event totals, product references, and quantities can remain.
Return reporting requests the applicable product reference and processed or refunded return-line quantity from Shopify. Customer contact, shipping, and payment fields are not requested for that reporting calculation.
Shopify privacy requests#
Shopify can send customer data access, customer redaction, and shop redaction instructions to Radiant. The app uses minimized request and order references to find or delete applicable order-linked records. It does not copy contact fields from those requests into Analytics.
Merchants can review customer privacy request status in Settings. Shoppers should normally start with the store where they used Radiant.
Merchant controls#
Review the storefront notice after changing:
- Analytics;
- result-memory duration;
- language;
- Smart Selector behavior;
- the app embed or product block;
- store-specific privacy wording.
The merchant is responsible for selecting the legal basis, configuring Shopify Customer Privacy, and providing required storefront notices and choices.
Support messages#
Do not submit passwords, access tokens, payment-card information, or shopper body details through support. Send only the store and product context needed to investigate the issue.
Retention and deletion#
The complete retention schedule belongs in the Privacy Policy. Important operational boundaries include:
- body inputs are not retained server-side;
- direct order references are removed after 60 days;
- Smart Selector usage events become eligible for cleanup after 62 days;
- monthly usage buckets become eligible after 13 months;
- uninstall starts deletion of the applicable shop data;
- limited records can remain only for the safety and verification periods described in the Privacy Policy.
